HUNTINGTON STATION, NY, FEBRUARY XX, 2015 – In support of American Heart Month, Walt Whitman Shops will host the third annual Paint the Mall Red health and wellness event on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12 to 5 p.m. in Center Court.
Sponsored by NYC Surgical Associates, the program will promote awareness of heart disease, the number one health threat to women in the United States, with health experts, vendors, live demonstrations and entertainment celebrating Heart Health Month. The American Heart Association will be on-site, dispensing valuable information about the associated risks and warning signs.

The main stage will feature entertainment every hour from 12 to 4 p.m. These include demonstrations of The Murphy Mat – Inspire, Challenge, Educate, a comfortable, yet durable exercise mat developed by Lino Zovich, who teamed up with athlete Rohan Murphy to create the world’s #1 push up mat. Rohan Murphy lost his legs at age 4, overcame adversity to a successful wrestling career with Penn State and is now a highly sought-after motivational speaker sharing his story of perseverance, dedication and living life with a purpose.
Composer and musical director Lynn Portas will perform on the main stage at 1 and 3 p.m. She is the composer of the musical 108 WAVERLY (Book and Lyrics by Dan Clancy); She and Dan Clancy have written several musicals as well as children’s plays. Lynn is also the Musical Director of the long running, off Broadway hit, TONY AND TINA’S WEDDING.
